The cause for establishing this organization was because of the nuclear tests that America did in the 60's and 70’s. The first unofficial action of the said organization took place on October 16, 1970, in Vancouver as a protest against a nuclear test of ever more powerful bombs. On September 15,1971, eco-activists sent a ship to Alaska in order to stop dangerous tests in a seismically dangerous region. The principles of Greenpeace are, Protests through action and not violence, because they believe that it brings positive results and can inspire people to change their attitude towards the environment.
